Fourth of July celebrations
Residents will have the opportunity to celebrate the Fourth of July with two free events.
· Independence Day Parade – The city’s annual Independence Day parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. July 4 in downtown Irving. Immediately following the parade, a patriotic concert will be featured at Heritage Park, 217 Main St. A parade route is posted online at www.cityofirving.org. Call (972) 721-2501.
· Irving’s Firecracker Fourth – The City of Irving and the Irving Symphony Orchestra (ISO) will present Irving’s Firecracker Fourth on July 4 in Las Colinas’ Williams Square, 5221 N. O’Connor Blvd. The patriotic concert by the ISO, under the baton of Maestro Hector Guzman, will begin at 8 p.m., followed by a spectacular fireworks show. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and attendees are invited to come early to enjoy music by local entertainers. Due to new commercial development, high-element fireworks cannot be used.
